My Philosophy

Dr. Munir Virani is the Chief Executive of the Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund since September 2021. He has dedicated is life towards protecting and conserving threatened birds of prey across the globe as vital elements of ecosystem health. Prior to that, Munir was the Executive Vice President and Director for Global Conservation Strategy for The Peregrine Fund, based in Boise Idaho, USA. With over 25 years of experience in raptor research and conservation, strategic planning, project design, execution, management and fund raising, Munir has provided strategic and programmatic direction on the conservation birds of prey and ecosystems that spans over four continents. His work has focused on creative, holistic and effective solutions for conservation problems, developing collaborative conservation ventures and capacity building.
